I don't see the point of doing covers that sounds exactly like the original. If I wanted to hear that, I'd listen to the original. What's wrong with doing your own version of the song?

That is a pretty epic cover but, yes, the lyrics have always been the let-down on 'Intravenous Agnostic'. Which is a crying shame because musically it's one of the best tunes they've ever done.

I totally disagree about the lyrics, I think they're great, and very well tied to the whole idea of the song as I see (hear) it, if not the whole album... "what a mess"... - and the minimal, spiky language used... I just think it's spot-on, and much more interesting than some of the more standard kind of lyrics on some of the other tracks.

I agree on the music though, I wouldn't ever say KYE is as successful an album as some of their others, but I think the choice of the song's middle 8/solo as a clip on the band's website before it released was a superb choice, although maybe it raised expectations too high, because the album in my head after hearing that was always going to be difficult to match

I wonder what the Manics themselves would think if they watched those Youtube vids!

A band, whose first choice for a Muse cover is Yes Please, must be good in some kind of way.

Did they do covers of ALL the bands whose names are written on the blackboard thing behind them? They've obviously spent every waking hour practicing!
