This week has been full of Manics news, with upcoming single (‘It’s Not War’) Just The End of Love receiving its first play on radio.

- The single is to be released on the 13th September, and the album following on the 20th September.

- According to NME, Michael Sheen is to appear in the video for the single.

New Manics Album and UK Tour in Sept-Nov

As we’ve been reporting rumours for a while now, the long awaited UK tour has been announced on the Official Manics Site, kicking off in Glasgow on the 29th September….Those full dates are :

According to the official festival website, the Manics are to play Bergenfest 2010, in Bergen, Norway on the 1st May 2010.

Manics for Bilbao BBK Festival

The official festival website for BBK Festival in Bilbao, Spain is reporting that the Manics are to play there on Saturday 10th July, 2010.

Other bands for the 3 day festival in Bilbao include Rammstein, Slayer, Bullet for My Valentine and Pearl Jam. Tickets are on sale for 110 Euros, or for 50 Euros for day tickets for the 8th and 9th July (it is not clear if these will become available for the 10th).

King Tuts Gig announced

The Manics Official Site have announced that the Manics will be playing as a three piece at King Tuts in Glasgow, on the 18th February 2010. This is to celebrate 20 years of King Tuts, and so it is likely to be a one off gig.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Wednesday 27th January, and cost £25 each. They can be purchased from here. Come and discuss this on the forum.

James to appear at ‘Concert for Care’

James Dean Bradfield is to appear solo at ‘Concert for Care’ on Monday the 2nd November at London Brixton Academy, with a lineup that includes artists such as Gary Barlow, Kaiser Chiefs, Badly Drawn Boy, Damien Rice, Speech Debelle, Beth Rowley, David Arnold, David Walliams, Rob Brydon, Dara O’Briain, James Corden and others.

The concert is designed to raise money/awareness for CARE international, which helps people overcome poverty worldwide. More information is available here.

Independent Article and Working Title for New Album

An excellent article and interview by John Niven, covering the band’s recent North American Tour, appears in the Independent newspaper today. You can read it here. It reveals the working title for the new LP as ‘It’s not War – Just The End of Love’, which according to Wire is to sound ‘commerical’, although as always this is likely to change!
