Valley Boy -v- No Surface All Feeling

I find these songs very similar, just Valley boy is slightly slower.

The guitar riffs, bass notes, drums are similar too, solo is very good too!

What do you think?

Don't find them similar at all - strange thread! Nevertheless, No Surface better for me, though I've overlistened to it and would prefer to hear Valley Boy at all - even though I'm sure Nicky intended it in support of River Boy's nemesis.

NSAF is better but there's no similarity.

Dex, do you have cloth ears or something?! They're nothing alike. I'm tone-deaf and even I can tell there's no similarity!!

He doesn't sing on it, it's just according to the EMG package recorded at his house.

Just listened to them back-to-back. I don't hear any similarity myself and I too have a preference for "No Surface All Feeling".

I think I can actually hear some similarities.

But No Surface... is miles better in every way.

James sounds more sincere in No Surface All Feeling. I think he could have got away with the lyrics for Valley Boy on TIMT if he'd just had more conviction and faith in the lyrics. Pity Wire didn't sing or write music for b sides before.
I think I'd also prefer No Surface All Feeling live.

I'd sooner feast on turds on a stick than listen to 'Valley Boy'.
