Which Solo Songs Do You Wish Were Manics Songs?

I.e. so you'd have the chance to hear them again, or so they'd get more of the respect they D-E-S-E-R-V-EEE?
Which ones are strong enough?

For me, Still A Long Way To Go, Emigre, Bobby Untitled, Break My Heart Slowly, Stab Yr Heart and You Will Always Be My Home...

Any other thoughts?

I like the choices so far. I'd probably add 'Days Slip Away'.

From jdb's catalogue:
Still a long way to go
Emigre
Days slip away
Lost again
Clampdown/the card cheat (yeah, they're covers, but hearing the manics cover either of those would be awesome)

From the wire:
Withdraw/retreat
Daydreamer eyes
(Nicky wire's) last

Emigre is better than 99 per cent of the tracks on SATT. It would have lifted that immeasurably.

Still a Long Way To Go. Undoubtably. And An English Gentleman. Am I right in thinking that's about the band anyway...? So if it is, it seem unjust NOT for it to be a Manics track!

Quite a few folks on this forum don't know the difference between Manics songs and solo songs anyway.

An English Gentleman is about the time Phillip and Martin Hall travelled over from London to see the band playing in some crappy hall somewhere, being interested in them and of course the band then moving over to London and staying at Phillips house etc, etc!

Bad Boys And Painkillers is basically a Manics track anyway, Nicky wrote the lyrics and everything. But having said that, there aren't any songs I wish were 'Manics songs' as such. I think the sound of James and Nicky solo is unique, and can't really be compared to the Manics' back catalogue in any way.

Thought so, it's so literal, but it's great. I love James's stuff, it's nice to get an insight to how his mind works.

I love the line 'there are no lies, it's just the way we feel today'. Makes them sound like a right bunch!

All of James' singles and bsides and a few of the album tracks would've made for a fantastic Manics album, much better than SATT.

I love Nicky's album exactly as it is, I think an MSP performed version with James on vocals would have less charm.
