Which song in class?

I teach English as a foreign language and I'd like to play a Manics song to my year 10/11 pupils and do an easy activity on the lyrics (like fill the gaps or that sort of thing). I did Tolerate with my year 13 students when they were studying the Spanish Civil War last year, but the ones I've got now too young to get most of the references. So, any suggestions?

Let Robeson Sing?...
Or better still "Motorcylce Emptiness" to teach them of the feelings they have as they get older?

I think the issue with most of the Richey era songs (and a few non-Rich era songs too!) is that James' diction given the lyrics is pretty shit so possibly not so helpful for those learning English?

Please, for the love of God, don't teach kids English the James Dean Bradfield way... it could potentially ruin their careers.

I think Let Robeson Sing is a really good idea- a nice descriptive lyric, clean and suitable for the classroom, about a interesting man the students might be inspired to find out a bit more about afterwards, and of course a great song.

Yes, especially now that they're doing a project on important figures like Luther King and Mandela. Robeson would be a good example of someone less famous but as important.

Yeah that's why I've been struggling finding a suitable one : no "taboo" words, good diction, not too many difficult words, ...
