Well Sapporo would be a shoe-in at least. And Suede won't have to have "The London" above their name over there.
Trying to piece together possible Manics operations if November Asian dates true.
It could be a string of medium sized venues both in the UK and Asia? I know they aren't touring together in this country. Just thinking what the Manics own plans etc.
Do you think the Ticketmaster thing with The Cure has made the band feel wary of announcing dates?
Then again plans can fall down. But Gigs in Asia. (Obviously can't go!) That type of investment is too great to suddenly get cold feet on and withdraw.
Hahaha the world is seeing how great the Manics are more than the UK!

Seeing MSP in Japan would be a bucket list item for sure

I was listening to Stationary Traveller by Camel earlier tonight, and am listening to Diapause now, and I'm wondering if the Manics were listening to Camel when they wrote Diapause. There are definite similarities.

Not reviving the thread to avoid panic. But if that picture was from the 23rd of March.
Do you think they've finished recording by now? I know I know. Wait and see. But you must be slightly curious they're at least in the mixing process by now?

It was an interesting caption "lots of this guitar on the new songs"... at what point in the writing/recording process does James decide which guitar he uses for songs? I'd think it must be pretty late on in the process.

When Sean was on Facebook*ahemleaveit. He did say TUVL was recorded in three weeks. It's pretty much been three weeks since that post. Four looking at it.
Obviously they can't just churn it out. They have to order the vinyl stuff. And then from what I can gather the mixing and mastering nonsense I know even little about.
*Panting LOOK I DON'T WANT TO KNOW EVERYTHING! Just a little progress report would stop me rattling. (Capital letters for comic effect. I'd never shout at you, LA ex! It's the withdrawal of not having new Manics stuff. Apologies)
And it's already mid-April! Once again time moves so fast when it seems like nothing is moving.

Well actually, I just checked my Facebook memories and there was an article in Mojo about TUVL with a September release announcement.
So looks like I'm going to be rattling away all Summer if they follow the same pattern.
Goodnight!

No worries, I've always been intrigued as to how albums (not just Manics) take shape... when decisions are made and why, how long it takes an experienced writer to take the seed of an idea for a song through to its completion. And for an experienced band how often they look back and wish they'd done things differently.

Edit: Actual News! (Wonder if it's a Glastonbury warm-up gig?)

Edit: Tickets are £43.45 which isn't terrible.

Date wise it's three days before the play Isle of Wight, then another week to Glasto. Which sounds like they've got a gap for a few more shows....

Do we think it’s likely to sell out Friday?

Bath forum doesn't usually sell out so I'd say you're grand for a few weeks. You can buy tickets through the venue in case the other sites use dynamic (stealing your money) ticketing. The venue is nice but the crowd are usually a bit shite (people standing around with either pints, phones or both). Gig should end with enough time to catch the last Great Western heading towards London.

Thanks, I saw them there on the TUVL tour and I really liked the venue - Hopefully it won't sell out straight away!
