What was the first festival you went to (as a punter)?
James and I went to Womad festival in 1985. We saw Siouxsie and the Banshees and the Shop Assistants.

What was the first festival you played at?
It was a terrible festival in Milton Keynes. The Daily Star said: "Catch this band before they are huge". There were literally six people watching us.

What's your favourite thing about festivals?
The chance to stand out among loads of other bands.

What don't you like about them?
The dressing rooms, the toilets, the dirt and the drugs.

What are your best/worst festival memories?
Best - Reading 1997. I had a see-through camouflage dress and Kylie Minogue was in our dressing room.
Worst - Reading 1994, which we did without Richey (James) as he was still in hospital.

Have you ever lost anything at a festival?
My dignity.
