Title: Parents Register Missing Manics Star Legally Dead
Publication: The Times
Date: Monday 24th November 2008
Writer: Patrick Foster

Blackwood The parents of the missing Manic Street Preachers singer and guitarist Richey Edwards, left, have registered their son as presumed dead (Patrick Foster writes). In 1995 Edwards, 27, who suffered from depression, walked out of a London hotel and abandoned his car near the Severn Bridge. Last month a grant of probate was made to his parents, Graham and Sherry Edwards, of Blackwood, Gwent, to release their son's estate. The family's lawyer hinted that they still hoped that he was alive, but wanted to set his estate in order. The band supports the decision.
