Manic Street Preachers release a new single on April 15 called 'Design For Life', with the lyrics written by bassist Nicky Wire. The song was previewed at Wembley Arena In December last year when the band supported The Stone Roses. Those who have heard it say that it is one of the best things that the Manics have done to date. An anthemic ballad, It features a string section and the lyrics "we don't want love, we just want to get drunk". Apart from their contribution to the 'Help' album, this will be the first material that the Monks have released since the disappearance of guitarist Richey Edwards in February last year. Lyrics written by Richey and given to the band just before his disappearance, will be used by the Manic, for future releases. The Mania, who announced that they will play with Oasis at their Dublin Point gig, are currently lining up other UK shows. They are also scheduled to play Leeds Sound City in April.
