Manic Street Preacher Nicky Wire has revealed the band's pride at playing Cardiff Castle - with the gig being broadcast on BBC Wales.
Bassist Wire said that playing the landmark city centre venue was an "honour and a privilege".
He said: "We've played nearly every venue in Cardiff, now it's our honour and privilege to play Cardiff Castle.
"In such an iconic setting playing The Holy Bible exceeds our wildest dreams and for the show to be broadcast on BBC Two Wales is a massive thrill."
The highly anticipated gig will be followed by a special TV programme presented by Huw Stephens.
Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens, who is from Cardiff, will present Manics Live from Cardiff Castle on June 5 at 9.30pm, airing on BBC Two Wales and BBC iPlayer.
It will also be available on the red button across the UK.
The concert is being broadcast on the inaugural BBC Music Day - a nationwide celebration of music which aims to bring people together across generations and communities through their love of music.
