Title: Christmas Single Could Be Manic
Publication: South Wales Evening Post
Date: Friday 28th September 2007

Welsh rock heroes Manic Street Preachers are getting ready to rock around the Christmas tree this year.

The three-piece band, who feature former Swansea University graduate Nicky Wire on bass, are gearing up to record a special festive song.

Frontman James Dean Bradfield said they were still in the early stages of writing, but were excited about the as-yet untitled track.

"I think we've got more of a sense of humour than people realise," he added. "We regard the Christmas single as a great, great tradition.

"The way it reads is a bit funny at the moment.

"We always have to decide what we're going to do with it.

"We've always got lots of little plans and dreams - one of which is to do a Christmas single."

The band, who picked up two nominations for best single and album in the Q awards, will be touring the UK in November.
