I loved - and still love - Leviathan. After the world-weariness of Lifeblood it was a welcome reminder that the band still had a few high-tempo fuck-you guitar squalls in them. It's a pity they didn't include it on SATT instead of Underdogs.

'We do also speak politics to you today...' is a great clip too.

Yes, as long as you got the download version, unfortunately it was cut out on the CD release.

Welcome To The Dead Zone - On paper, you would not expect a song with a chorus of, "Welcome to the Dead Zone, it's a circus full of whores" to be so lovely. I suppose that is the charm of the Manics.

See it Like Sutherland - Love the spongy drums!

I just double-checked the text and found a new mis-heard lyric:

'And all of their dialects
Illustrate the pointless...'

I always thought this was '...and all the dead dialects...'

For me I have a bit of a love / hate relationship with their b-sides. There are flashes of brilliance but also some absolutely totally forgettable songs. Welcome to the Deadzone wins it for me in terms of a genuinely fucking great song that got put in the wrong drawer. Ghost of Christmas is also great in a fun-just-kind-of-mucking-about kind of way. Masses & Motown would be my top two if they weren't too obvious.
