Hmm, nothing here then

As a side note, I ordered an XXL shirt and lost a bit of weight since. If there's anyone who bought an XL and went the other way get in touch...

It’s as we feared. From Clash Music’s review:

The remastering is, to be frank, pretty horrific, cranking the levels to a point where most of the pleasing dynamic range of the original has gone; the loudest points sound crunchy and fatiguing. It is far harsher than the treatment meted out to the rest of their catalogue reissues and inexplicable. Nobody’s opinion of these songs is going to be improved by an unrelenting onslaught.

There is no need for this reissue. And the mastering bollox proves this. The band has been really boring for the last few years. 2 years now since new material. 3 years probably since they wrote that material.

Sounds in line with what we've seen on Twitter, where someone posted an image of the La Tristess waveform. Where there used to be dynamics the whole way through, there's now the quiet opening verse, and then a rectangle. Really disappointing.

Is the live cover of What's My Name a different version? Doesn't sound as good quality either, Remaster eh?

My album is still downloading. Did listen to Sleepflower 1993 and the remastered version. It sounds crisper. Using Lenovo Dolby sound (which I probably still need to adjust) and Sennheiser HD 498 headphones.

Just listening on Spotify. First thought is that it's only the Impact Demos which are the most interesting. Shame there are only 2 of those. As said above I don't know why there is a different (and muddier sounding) version of What's My Name included. Its from Norwich based on James' vocals

Is it Sean the other distorted vocal on Sympathy of Tourrettes ?

A different version of What’s My Name?! Wtf?!

I’m guessing that this will be delivered by the postman rather than via courier. Has anyone received their physical copy yet?

Just finished listening to the remaster on Spotify and, yes, it is atrocious. Everything has basically been cranked up to 11. It’s almost as bad as Iggy’s remix of Raw Power.

Yeah remastered tracks suffer from Loudness War. Even the B-Sides are ruined IMO. That said, some of the demos are rather delightful.

Incidentally, I remember waiting for this to be released in 93 and reading in the NME that they were working on a track called "Patrick Bateman". The anticipation almost killed me

Only my CD has arrived. The signed insert is pathetic and damaged at each corner and a bent at the top. Why they just couldn't sign the book.....

Another Sony fuck up.
