The Manics make me feel/have turned me into…

The Manics make me feel/have turned me into…

Always curious about the Manics experience and its effects, we’ve asked ourselves this morning how we would finish the phrase “The Manics make me feel/have turned me into...” and then spent the following minutes staring at nothing and examining our brains.

Eventually we two agreed they make us feel somewhere in between “celestial” and “like cutting the feet off a ballerina”.

We can specify those various different states in the middle but not before you post your replies. You can refer to the Manics in general or your favourite Manic –and/or your least favourite if you have the heart to do so (and why not?)...

I could only say that the Manics have completely transformed me, but now I'm back a full circle.

Which means I'm boring and unattractive.

Ditto that. Which also lead to me being probably much more cultured and observant than I probably would have been otherwise. I've always been kinda miffed I never grew up at the time when a lot of what their lyrics were much more relevant. However a lot of their lyrics still do hold a lot of contemporary importance, which is what does affect me and how I think about things. They, specifically Richey, consider about things from many different angles I may not have otherwise.

Made me into someone who doesn't care that no one they know seems to like their favourite band. Apart from here of course...

A pseudo-intellectual.
Nah, they turned me on to certain books that has led me into all different directions. My interest in philosophy, politics, history all led from early Manics rhetoric. They made me, not proud, but enlivened to be working class. As soon as I had got over how Rock n Roll Generation Terrorists era Manics were (I love glam punk a la Hanoi Rocks, Backyard Babies and Wildhearts etc and with me it was leopard print first and then I discovered the old Manics in about 1998 when I was 16) the lyrics turned on something in my brain.
I became a devourer of knowledge and went from an C/D student at school to getting A's at A level.

The Manics were almost like therapy for me during a particularly bad year and they've been with me ever since! And James is my music hero. Just thought I would add that!
