Very welsh album, this. Drawing a lot of parallels between Jara, Chile and Wales looking at Wales and Welsh history through this other lens.

"What was once lost we will find again" and change in tempo in Recuerda are so epic. James is unable to create a song that I won't like.

I've played the CD about 20 times now over last two days, really like it a lot. I really love Thirty Thousand Milk Bottles and the instruental La Partida is really good. Love Boy from the Plantation so much though!

Without knowing the end is basically Ostpolitik with lyrics. Fascinating!

I love it but I can only hear a mashup of She Sells Sanctuary and Man On The Moon

It’s like a composite of R.E.M. riffs.
Check out Green Grow the Rushes at the 1 min mark. https://youtu.be/IxNUOQh65ik I’d forgotten Ostpolitik was a thing that existed. JDB probably has too. |

Same here, hummingbird. Horses Under Starlight deserves lyrics as well. Such a beautiful and unique masterpiece.

Hopefully we'll get through the entire REM back catalogue before we figure out what Without knowing the end sounds like...
