You'll like "She is Suffering" - it's a song about a Lostock lady who walks up the hill to the Bob Smithy Inn, only to find most of the beer's off, and they're closing up 10 minutes after she arrives. It's pretty good.

Miss Europa Disco Dancer.

It will blow your mind.

It's about a band who were snubbed by a famous female singer and so decided to write a bitter, vengeful song about how shit the sort of music she writes is.

Is this thread just takin the piss?
Well if it isn't....
Some of the best Manics tracks are on their Greatest Hits CD. Post-Greatest Hits tho most of Journal For Plague Lovers is also pretty great.
My fave Manics songs are Motorcycle Emptiness, Small Black Flowers That Grow in The Sky, Faster, Yes, A Design For Life, Peeled Apples, Me and Stephen Hawking, No Surface All Feeling, La Tristesse Durera...
I could go on all night with this but im tired and this is probably just takin the piss anyway. hard to tell on here.

I think it might depend on what sort of thing you like, Bobsmithy, though some songs are clearly genius regardless of preference. What have you heard so far?

DON'T LISTEN TO MISS EUROPA DISCO DANCER.

Listen to Faster instead.

I suspected this much but thought I would be uncharacteristically benevolent. It will probably come back and bite me

It's not that bad? It's better than Wattsville Blues anyway?
It's hard to say what their best songs are as it depends on the listener?
I for one love Fragments but everyone else just goes "NOOOO!!!!!!!" whenever it's mentioned?
Pick an album any album, you can't miss!

I wasn't too taken by Fragments when Lifeblood first came out, but I love it now.

Anyway, buy Forever Delayed, and buy Lipstick Traces. That'll give you a good overview of the first few years.

I love Fragments.

I even prefer Wattsville blues over Miss Europa Disco Dancer though.

Yeah, like Relic said. Forever Delayed and Lipstick Traces!
