Do videos actually do much anyway these days? I don't even understand why so many bands keep making them for each single.

I get me wrong, I'm always happy to see a video released for a song I like, but I'm not sure what the band gets out of that. I'm only watching them on youtube, I'm already into the band and went there to see that video; I can't see videos drawing in more fans the way they used to. And most videos, quite frankly, I don't even watch; just listen and work on another tab. Maybe watch it the whole way through once, if that.

Do music channels still play music videos in the U.K.? It's been about ten years since I lived somewhere with television, and there was hardly any music video play here by that time. I can't imagine it's gotten better since.

I really don't expect them (or anybody) to put much effort into a video, so I'm quite happy with it. It's an official video which I can find again easily, and send to or play for somebody -who will also pay little or no attention to the visuals.

Surely the only people who would buy the new single would be us, the more ardent fans, for the b sides? Using Songs which they already released, albeit hardly widely available, seems a total waste of time. They couldn't even shove on a couple more O2 tracks as well?

True, but if you wanted them you could get them easy enough. It's hardly going to incite a mass charge to iTunes. Are they really that short of songs?

Canadians will enjoy being able to purchase the b-sides on iTunes.

They've tended to release the Japanese bonus tracks as the b-sides to the second single of each album ever since the Lifeblood fiasco (usually on the 3rd single before that), so it's not really unexpected.

I'm a lil' more pestered by no O2 tracks, my DIY live album needs to be finished.

Great, if they are fussed about making sure we can all get all the tracks they're releasing maybe they'll see fit to include the Japanese O2 tracks from RTF at some ooint

There's no point in including "Antisocial Manifesto" and "Kodawari" as Futurology's B-sides when they have already made them available in the HK version of the whole album.

The vast majority of people don't (or won't) import. So I think there is a point. (Do you mean HK or Japan btw? I wasn't aware there was another release with the bonus tracks on?)

I am happy in that it means more b-sides that have had proper lossless releases. I would not be surprised if the remix gets a vinyl release, but if not, at least it's just a remix, and they aren't usually all that essential for most of us…

I am less happy because obviously it means fewer new tracks at this point, but it seems churlish to be too annoyed about that given how much material we've gained in the last eleven months or so!

Sorry, I mean the Japan edition, HK is the vinyl...anyway. I must always import them, there's no other way, I couldn't get it from the manics official store...dont know why, I even wasn't able to buy GT box, that's why I get angry. After Lifeblood it seems local music suppliers are not very aware of the Manics' existence . I'd like they release a vinyl for two both singles...Futurology snd Caldey, I've always tried to have a physical support of music i like the most, i do not find that itunes' stuff to be pretty reliable
