The piano bit in Virginia State Epileptic Colony is so beautiful, occasionally it even makes me cry...

For me it's actually the guitar at the very very beginning of the entire song.

This...

Also in a similar vein in You're Tender and You're Tired when he sings "yes you can build yourself a round me, self around ME"

And the last guitar solo in Motorcycle Emptiness

"I could have written all your lines" in Your Love Alone Is not Enough

Oh and "most bands have no respect for us at all which is fine..." In Askew Road

THIS. SO MUCH THIS! Originally didn't think the song was all that special, but I was in Mexico a couple of summers back & fell asleep one night listening to Lifeblood. Woke up mere seconds before that "bombs" line in Solitude Sometimes Is & chills just went all over me. Ever since then it's been one of my favourite Manics songs.

Others that get me: Life Becoming a Landslide's second verse; Are Mothers Saints second verse; Donkeys solo; "So come oooooooon, would it be that haaaaaard?" from As Holy as the Soil

The 'what's the point in always looking back when all you see is more and more junk?' line in No Surface All Feeling, the Tolerate intro, the acousticy breakdown part way through Forever Delayed, the horn solo in Builder of Routines (so wish they'd played that live), the 'fascinated by good, destroyed by evil, what is there to believe in?' line in Ready For Drowning and pretty much all of ADFL (especially live).

I'm sure there are loads more depending on my mood etc.

Loads that have already been said especially any live rendition of ADFL when James does Summer Wind leading into the final chorus. But I have to give it to Firefight, whenever I listen it transports me back to Hammersmith Apollo '05 and gives me that goosebump feeling.

This... how could I forget to list this. Oh... how I love that song. I'd give anything to see them playing this live.

Loads...

"learn to live without clutter...to live without lux-u-ry." (Marlon JD)

"I want the world to see all the love and security, my childhood dreams" (Rewind the Film)

"Everyone I've loved or hated always seems to leave" (Yes)

The whole last min of (Interiors)

The "and I just hope you can forgive us" in the video to (EMG)

All of (Small Black Flowers)

Obviously LIVE when James properly elongates "everlasting.......nothingness!" Into the (Motorcycle Emptiness) solo. :-)

I have tons more... As I do for all the bands I really like. I guess that's what makes a band qualify as one of your favourites.
