Manics on Jools Holland 2004

I watched it at the time and loved it, but looking back...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmTPAX1Qrng&NR=1

^That is the single most embarassing thing the Manics have ever been involved in,

AND

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6bzCAJ-tSU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmSe3q2XZVw

are possibly my two favourite Manics performances of all time!

Seriously, I think they're perfect.

It sums up the whole Lifeblood era.

Discuss.

You thinks that embarassing?! the official music video of that song is embarassing! LOL... but I have to admit that I like the song.

And I agree about the other two links. Great songs and amazing performances

If they do it live, it needs speeding up a tad

If they do TLORN live, Nicky should sing it. It's too low for James. In fact, they just shouldn't do it live.

Never prefer Nicky over James singing live, no matter what song is it!

Nixon is a really shit song IMO. Almost as bad as So Why So Sad (but not quite!!). I always found it weird that they were the first singles from those two albums (ok joint for SWSS).

If Nixon was the first MSP song I ever heard I would make zero effort to check out any of their other music and would probably in fact avoid them at all costs.

Too low for James? Eh? It grew on me so quickly that I would've checked them out soon after!

Okay, Nicky isn't a great singer, but at least if he sung TLORN it would be in his comfort zone, whereas JDB singing it just sounds weak by comparison to his other vocals. I stand by they shouldn't do it live. It's quite a shit song.
