I actually dislike the demo. Just doesn't do anything for me.

So...are all of them Nicky's demos or are there a few JDB numbers in there?

Yeah, I'm a fan of Nicky's solo stuff but it's actually worse than JDB's effort. The least I hoped for was that Nicky would use more lyrics and not go all JDB with the dreaded repetitive verses. Scarily, IIRC there are fewer lines in his demo.

Been struggling to sell it, gotta hype it up somehow. You got one? I still think the best thing about it is the smell of the book. Not sayin it's a shit box set like, I just really like that...

Yeah I have it, I sulked until my parents brought it for me, and they were like "90 odd pound for that!?" they weren't impressed when I told them the price has gone down now...

the smell of the book?

Not really, since James writes most of the Manics' music. I'm starting to wonder if Nick's recent attempts at tune-age aren't often better, or certainly less cheesy than James's (I said it again!). Okay, I'm over-stating for comedy effect, but I definitely prefer the tone of Nick's version of INW (i.e. dreary - I'm an ex-goth...)

Me too!! When I worked in publishing I was always smelling the paper. People would always say, "she's doing it again" bah. I knew it wasn't just me!

I would go as far to say that it's really awful. And I normally quite like Wire's demos.

Other than that one cool little riff/chord progression after the chorus - hopefully that gets reused at some point/
