Second chorus of Life Becoming a Landslide (James's guitar does it every time...)

The outro of No Surface All Feeling

The moment PCP goes ballistic after the plodding opening bars

All of Too Cold Here

The bit where the massive choir kick in on SKON

Epicentre (all of it)

The last bit of Roses in the Hospital

Solitude Sometimes Is....

There are a lot more but I can't think of them right now

Loads and loads I could mention. Be Natural has several. But the one that gets me without fail every time is in She Is Suffering, on the word carrion. It's for the vocals more than the lyrics Not a favourite song, but I suppose that's why I get surprised by the goosebumps every time.

I also get chilly at the horn solo in Builder of Routines. Oh God, it's just haunting.

To Repel Ghosts is another. The ghosty reverb vocals. Stunning.

My moment was the forever delayed tour in Manchester men arena (as it was called then)
It was suicide is painless. The shift change from slow to quick was for like wow!

The intro of Life Becoming A Landslide

I always get chilly when I listen to some live recordings of it and people start to sing along with the lines like "childbirth tears upon her muscle..."

Loads, but I got it today in the car as McCulloch sang the 'never, never stop' part of Some Kind of Nothingness.

Really, just about every song on the first five albums has at least one goosebumps moment for me. These are the ones that first come to mind, though:

The happier I am when I'm with you, the harder it gets when I am alone.

All the sadness will never go away, baby, it's here to stay.

The guitar solos in Crucifix Kiss.

Every second in Small Black Flowers That Grow In The Sky.

Everyone I've loved or hated always seems to leave.

So damn easy to cave in; man kills everything.

Agree with this. The change in style of voice between Richard Hawley and JDB is stunning.

In addition, I love the massive intro after "I write this alone etc..." in "From Despair To Where", the intro to "Tolerate" and, maybe surprisingly, the intro to "Enola / Alone".

'I-KNOW-I-BELIEVE-IN-NOTHING-BUT-IT-IS-MY-NOTHING!'

Still my favorite part of any Manics song.

I love the rumbling thunder of drums on the intro to "Under My Wheels". It always takes me back to 1994-95 when I first heard the version. Great stuff!

Hard choice! Not in order of importance, or maybe yes:

1) Motorcycle emptiness (all of it, every single second)
2) Feel the guilt of a sinner, feel the cold of a winter (it's the way James says "guilt" and the beauty of the lyric itself)
3) The world on your shoulders/the love of your mother/the fear of the future/the best years behind you (everytime is like a stab in my heart)
4) Wear you eyes as dark as night (don't blame me, I am a victim; blame James's voice)

loads, such an abundance of emotive lyrics to try and single a few out.
One that struck today is - never want again "we'll go down, we'll go down together and meet a few of you in hell"

I absolutely love this thread. For me it's the whole "someone somewhere soon will take care of you..." bit from This Is Yesterday, the "forEVER forEVER" outro from Roses In The Hospital and of course "nobody loved you LIKE MEEEEEE" is totally majestic every time.
