Lorna’s Manics covers are always worth a listen. We should definitely try and get her to join the compilation in some capacity.

Might ask Allister Thompson on Twitter if he might be interested. A bit of an international vibe and at least he can sing! lol!

Oh absolutely! Stu and I were talking earlier about this; on reflection, keeping it to just forum members seems a bit pointless. If there are people out there who want to contribute, the more the merrier. The compilation is being organised by the denizens of the forum, sure, but that doesn’t mean we have to limit the contributors to just forum members.

Our very own Bloodflower Bill - editor of the fantastic God Is In The TV Zine - just organised and put out a 40 track R.E.M. compilation (see the Other Music sub forum for more details) which not only got recognised by R.E.M. themselves but has so far raised over £5,000 for Help Musicians UK. I did a track for that too! So I feel like we could do something similar here and not only raise some money for a charity but also celebrate our love of the band and make this part of our celebrations of them having a number 1 album again, you know?

If all other attempts fail, that would be a good fall-back suggestion!

I think I know which song I'm doing now, still deciding how to do it though... electronic/synthy/piano or guitar. And whether to try 'singing' on it.

Also, I think there's every chance I will prefer Son of Stopped's EWYS to the original lol.

What he hasn’t yet revealed is that he’s doing it as a polka.

Amanda Graceywire has a hell of a voice, I wonder if she'd be interested.

One of my favourites and a track that should totally have been a single.
