Simple: THB followed by JFPL. Maybe with Vision Blurred or Judge Yrself in between. Or both. Problem is, it'd put incredible strain on James' voice.

well, specifically i would refer you to the "Manics on Twitter" thread for comments there. as for anything else, I doth quoth Chris Barrie impersonating Ronald Reagan on the album version of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's cover of War; "man has a sense for the discovery of beauty". happy searching.

there is not quite so much outright worship and prostration in respect of Phil Collins, Bono, Coldplay and that twat Sting here as one finds in the pages of Q.

I have never really paid much attention to the music played at the intervals at gigs I have been to. Maybe I'm missing out.

Didn't they promise entertainment at the break? That's what I was getting at...

Most bands I see take their pre-gig music seriously; Weller has a top DJ as you'd expect I'm sure to get the crowd going and Morrissey has them video things doesn't he?

I was expecting some sort of visual display

I wasn't being sarcastic I just usually head straight to the bar at the interval and get chatting so never really notice the interval music.

I'd love any setlist that included songs they don't play all the time. I'd even love this setlist...

Engage With Your Shadow
SYMM
Miss Europa Disco Dancer
Gold Against the Soul
Underdogs
Wattsville Blues
Damn Dog
Be Natural
Hazelton Avenue
Masking Tape
Autumnsong

this just screams "My Misunderstood Masterpieces - An Intimate Evening with Nicky Wire, a bass guitar and a Twitter account"

26. Condemned To Rock'N'Roll

There's a Nicky spot in before the acoustic bit to give James throat a rest, in a nod to the Stones "Hand over to Keef so Mick can change his blouse" ritual.
Now that would be an awesome gig!

It does beg the question, if the boys had written all of these songs for another band, that band could have been just as big as the manics and some of these songs could have become part of uk chart history but better for us manics fans that we are the only ones who really get to hear them!! how selfish of us!

Thought about this today for some reason, and trued to come up with a list that would be an amazing gig, but only including stuff they have played live (I've accepted, sadly, that I shall never hear half of the tracks I want to). I've obviously included a few standards, and I've gone for the ones that seem to get the best crowd response that I've seen.

Here goes:

Found That Soul
Peeled Apples
Motorcycle Emptiness
Lets Go To War
Nobody Loved You
Revol
Prologue To History
Enola / Alone
Freedom Of Speech Won't Feed My Children
Of Walking Abortion
You Stole The Sun From My Heart
Solitude Sometimes Is
Roses In The Hospital
Some Kind of Nothingness
Jackie Collins Existential Question Time
Condemned to Rock'N'Roll

My Little Empire (Acoustic)
Small Black Flowers That Grow In The Sky (Acoustic)

Love's Sweet Exile
Judge Yr'Self
30 Year War
You Love Us
Design For Life

I say it's time for a thread in which we can list our favourite FD.com lists!
