Favorite Manics Special Edition/Promo/Rarity

Way back in 1992, my dad got a signed pizza box from the band with Richey (they met in Pizza Hut), and he passed it onto me. I'm 13, so I have a few more years to collect things haha!

That's crazy cool, and welcome to the forum!

EMG Special edition has to be the best thing they've released for me.

13 is a scary age, make sure you cover your eyes during all the naughty bits of the forum.

well, maybe - perhaps he/she is one of those people just pretending, and at long last one of us might get targeted on this forum for this "grooming" business we all read about?

as for cool promos, one of the Send Away The Tigers singles came with a poster of the lyrics signed by the band, which looks ace. all the James solo singles bundles came with at least one signed by the man too. i think these apply only to the recordstore site orders?

otherwise, fair comment on the EMG anniversary edition - it's great, but i prefer the DVD with that Top Of The Pops performance of Faster on it with the The Holy Bible anniversary edition. you know, the one that under 14s shouldn't be allowed o see.

Keep it down in here, you damn kids!

Christ, I feel ancient on here today what with franny's comments and now postcardsfromayoungman (fitting name). I'm going to cry my wrinkled, decrepid eyes out now...

I'm not sure what my favourite rarity this would be (I assume the OP means something you actually own, and now just stuff you've seen). I love all my autographed stuff and my vinyl.

and i have ten years on you, mate. every time someone asks me "what's an Indiana Jones" or "what's a Frankie Goes To Hollywood" i get the feeling that i should be spending less time listening to the Manics, more time writing to the Daily Mail complaining about absolutely everything.

Indiana Jones was still an important part of my childhood, don't spit out your Werthers Originals in disgust quite yet.

I think my favourite thing is either the journo box thingy of TIMTTMY that was white with a polaroid from Wire in it,
edit - I knew I had a pic of it somewhere..

or the TIMTTMY folder and writing paper. That was epic.

Haha yes I'll cover my eyes. On the subject on this post, I also liked most of the Japanese releases of all their albums, all of them came with a special disc full of b-sides and rarities from that era. I lived in Japan for a few years, and the Japanese release some really great MSP stuff. Like the Stars and Stripes EP!
