I'm sad about this as I like listening to their albums at an inflated price complete with all that lovely imaginary warmth.

I only really like listening to quiet stuff on vinyl where you can actually hear the popping.

It didn't sound nice, it gave James a speech impediment! Generally speaking, their vinyl releases have been something to look at rather than play for a while now. This is a shame because we all know vinyl should offer a superior listen to CD. GT sounds so much better on vinyl.

Why? Is it pressed on cheap vinyl or something? I only have a limited knowledge on the technical aspects of sound and transferring to different formats etc.

Sadly there is something wrong with the vinyl release of Lifeblood. The vinyl isn't cheap as it's 180g. The inner sleeve holding the record is card which and not smooth inside. I think this produced a slight surface scratch as the sound is simular to some 7" singles which were released in cardboard sleeves.

GT definitely sounds way better on vinyl - but that's not hard really when the CD is one of the worst sounding CDs around. They really need to give that a remaster (remixing it would be even better...)

www.recordstore.co.uk for the vinyl version of Postcards, though I'm hoping it isn't exclusive to them and will be available cheaper nearer the time

Anyone wanting to pick up a cheap Journal vinyl should go to www.whatrecords.co.uk where it's currently £6.99 + P&P

Thanks for that. Was beginning to lose hope it would actually be released on vinyl.

Thanks for that. Unless it is some form of limited pressing, which I doubt, that pricing is ridiculous.
