What is the book called? I might try and track it down at Waterstones. Wanna see it in black and white for myself!

Me and a friend met james on the tigers tour a few years ago (in leicester), I accidentally drove around the back of the venue looking for a parking space and saw him outside having a smoke. Me and my mate made complete fools of ourselves when we approached him and we said all the wrong things. James was really cool though...such a nice guy. They say you should never meet your heros but I did and I'm glad.

They were all really good to us in NYC and Boston, very approachable. James went easy on me with the legendary handshake though

Nicky was really cool in Leicester as well, apologised for the two Brixton gigs when he found out where we were from. We were happy with one, which he thanked us for. He may have a mouth on him, but he can be a real sweetheart.

As for famous(ish) folks, Matt Pinfield sat outside Webster Hall and BSed with us for a few minutes about seeing them at Reading (94, I think? He said "Richey was still around"). I thought it was really cool that an American VJ/DJ whom I'd seen on TV as a kid even knew who they were, let alone had seen them around their own turf when it was still all four of them.

You're missing out the part where he stole all your candy.

Oh, that needs a screencap! Anyone - Please!!

Mind you, it would have been better had it been 'Of Walking Abortion' ...

"The bar went pretty busy during that one, James! They sold eight million pints"

Actually, Nicky, they didn't because the bars were so woefully undermanned that I don't think I got a single drink all evening ...

Years ago, around the time of THB, Motley Crue's bassist Nikki Sixx said he was a fan. I remember a Kerrang article in which he said that he wanted to cover one of their songs during one of their gigs (this was when Motley went "grunge").
I think at least half of the band would've been pretty pleased with that...

England and Notts off-spinner Graeme Swann has mentioned he likes them.

It was such a look of puzzled bewilderment edged with fear!

You can't steal what you've been given! I'll bet you that candy lifted band morale!

Will - so you got any goss on this Brad Pitt thing then? Has he mentioned being a Manics fan on the David Letterman show or anything?

You didn't give him the whole bag though.
