Yep, I'm with you on that too. The Wrong Beginning is fantastic and I like Still a Long Way to Go and Which Way to Kyffin but I find the rest a bit dull I'm afraid.

The podcast with Greg Havers was really interesting where he said that it started off as a far heavier album (assume that's where some of the good bsides came from)but then also said that the backing track of Your Love Alone also came from the early sessions for it ?

TGW is fabulous. Loved the singles, loved the b-sides. Bad boys and painkillers he pinched off Nicky dint he? Loved that too. Deserves a reissue to get the b sides on there. Won't get it but deserves it .

Autumnsong I like. Hate it live though

I'd put futurology in the more populist than artistic category. by my reckoning through their career it is something like:

GT, GATS, THB, EMG, TIMTTMY, KYE, LB, (TGW), SATT, JFPL, PFAYM, RTF, F, RiF, (EiE)

So no idea what comes next....

TGW is my favourite Manics related project I think alongside Lifeblood - but then again I'm always going to lean more towards James compared to the other two, as his influences are a lot more like mine, plus I like his simpler lyrical style. The fact that Pete Ham was one of the biggest influences on TGW is massive for me because I'm a huge Badfinger fan. Also hearing the songs live before hearing the album was weird but made me almost desperate to hear more and believe me, it didn't disappoint.

My brother popped on TGW today and he was singing along to a few tracks and said he likes both of James' albums a lot. I like both, too
