It's basically a solo song, with perhaps added guitar. It has the sound of IKTZ at least.

Kidding. It is great. In a ramshackly twee way.
Which I guess was his intention.

Has anyone ever contemplated another solo album with vocals as good as WLW? If he ditches the defeatist "crap punk" angle and really tries to prove himself, I reckon he could surprise listeners beyond hardcore fans - who, let's face it, are the only people who can get behind his vocals. He's definitely improved since Zeitgeist and let's face it, he's far better suited to this style.

his solo album, really. Dying Breeds and WLW were ace, the rest of his vocal efforts for the Manics tend to slide into "let's let Nicky do this bit for a laugh, i'm off for a Marlboro" more often than not. and why not?

I felt he was really suited for Failure Bound. It was all fairly basic, but there was something in its simplicity that was quite enjoyable.

I don't know, I think Lady Lazarus has the sound of IKTZ (except for the James' backing vocals), while The Long Goodbye is more Manics-style.

Anyway, what about the spoken words in the end of Groundhog Days?
Awesome.

Awesome.
I agree, his voice is very booming when he speaks, it grabs you. They should do that more often.
