The 3 year Itch

So, the band are going to have a self imposed 3 year break after Futurology promotion finishes. The next time the band will reappear will be when the band are approaching 48 and it will be the 13th Studio LP. I am quite superstitious and consider it awful that the band might wrap it up on LP 13. How long do you think the band CAN go on for?

It is nuts but I was 13 when GATS came out and that was my first Manics album. It feels like they've been with me my entire life through the good and the bad times.

There is nothing ominous about taking a three year break between albums.

Well, assuming we get a release of the film soundtrack they're supposed to be doing that's kind of like an album in between. And JDB joked on an interview the other day maybe they'd have to do albums 13 and 14 together to avoid the bad luck...

It'll be fine, I think they'll go on for many years in some form.

I'd say it'll be 2 years tops before they start making some noise again. They love music too much to take such a long break.

Could be more solo albums!

We'll get another 10 years our of them probably.

I'd like a solo Nicky album and a solo James album before a movie soundtrack.

3 year break? HELL NOOOOOOO!!!! I hope they don't mean that, I'll die waiting 3 years for more Manics goodness As long as they do solo stuff or bring our books or DVDs or anniversary editions of albums it will make things easier.

I'm also in the "believe it when see it" brigade.
But then I also think society has got about 2 years tops, (UK riots not this summer, but more likely 2016 when Labour *gasp don't turn out to be all that!)
But that's for another forum so...
On topic: So at least do you think we'll get "No Manifesto" by then?

Barring serious illness or death, I don't think they'll ever pack it in. They'll be 65 playing Archives of Pain excruciatingly slowly.

As long as they stay healthy and keep making good music, who really cares how long they go on for?

They're terrible at taking breaks and love what they do. Nothing at all to worry about
