When is Nicky's 2nd book due?

It's been a few years since his poor photo album came out so I hope he's been writing stuff since then for an official Manics autobiography or something.

Think it's been replaced by a Kevin Cummins photo collection in September as that's also out from Faber & Faber

Wasn't there a project of his about diaries he'd written, but after teasing it he let it drop as the book contained thoughts that would turn everyone against him?
It's been ages since this was mentioned. I am thinking "The Forbidden Diaries" but that might not have been the title.
What has he got to lose now, eh?

I always thought I'd read in Everything that "The Forbidden Diaries" were the lyrics left behind by Richey, which later became JFPL.

And I suppose if you think about it - A Diary = A Journal!

Ah right. Pretty sure I read Nicky had written something similar. Oh well. It was in an interview in Select magazine around 1998, so if anyone has that copy, they can check.
(And I liked the Family Guy picture!)

Going to use one of my bi-annual posts on here to be a pedantic fucker and point out that I'm pretty sure it was 'The Unwritten Diaries'.

Can you remember wht interview? Its a shame, think it would be a good read if he was really honest about things, could really put a great personal account of things.

I thought he had a two book deal with F&F, surely this would mean he's not fulfilled his contract?

Fantastic! And that was Nicky and not Richey's left over stuff?

If they still made Select it could even be from 2001. (No idea when it folded) If only there was an archive of every interview they'd done in print we could search!
And if he hasn't fulfilled his contract, legal action could see it written faster than Pete Townshend's Bumper Book Of Child Abuse that he claimed to be working on when he got arrested over a decade ago and only came out a couple of years ago.

Unless Nicky paid all the money back? (That must have hurt!)

I bet he's got a very flexible arrangement over completion date and it might be something he eventually does if/when the band finish or have a very long break. I'd still love to read his point of view, recollections and side of things.

Hope it gets finished sometime.

If it does ever come out I'll probably think of it as his first book. I don't think all those pictures of trees count really.

If he's not at all writing he probably has more like the option of a contract for a second book rather than a contract, or something.

In this interview (thanks to Lindz) he said he was 'bored' with it. Can't remember where the 'too painful' comment came from though...think it may have been a radio interview which might be on Youtube.

And most of them were Mitch Ikeda's anyway!

Considering the poor sales of his last book, and the fact it was being flogged at HMV for 99p (down from a ridiculous asking price of something obscene, the price which I can't remember) he's probably licking his wounds and saving face.
