Bit of a shorter setlist tonight, hope it's a one off (and everyone is in good health!).

One new song, which is pretty crap. Glad I won't be able to go now! Curious to see how they've filled the acapella bits on Sapporo.

I’m not sure how accurate that is. They played Robeson but it’s not on that list

Yeah that setlist is incomplete.

Here's an actual setlist pic:

From Despair to Where didn't happen, alas, but it was a bloody brilliant gig. James was on top form and it was significantly better than when I last saw them in Newcastle. My brain is toying with going to Edinburgh or York even though it would be nightmarish to get back!

Yes I'd say that's a decent trade!

Yeah and it was a crap time for MSPKYE (who runs FD Twitter by himself) to break his arm the day after the Halifax gig, have to miss the Cardiff gig and have to re-arrange his and his wife’s (i.e. me) plans for the entire tour at the last minute, so maybe a get well soon message would be more appropriate in the circumstances

I’ll be back with more thoughts on the gig at some point, but for now I will say I really enjoyed that!

They were excellent tonight. Good setlist, good sound and I'm so glad that this was the first show I've been able to attend since the pandemic started.

City Hall is so much better with the stalls seating removed now; such an improved atmosphere.

Oh and this is the setlist that was actually played. The roadies seemed to be faffing about with multiple setlists just before the band came on stage, so they must have made some last minute amendments as that paper setlist is wrong.

Motorcycle Emptiness
Orwellian
Your Love Alone
The Secret He Had Missed
Ocean Spray
You Stole the Sun
It’s Still Snowing in Sapporo
EMG
Complicated Illusions
International Blue
Tolerate
Stay Beautiful (Acoustic)
Sweet Child O’ Mine
Tsunami
Let Robeson Sing
Slash N Burn
Little Baby Nothing
Don’t Let the Night Divide Us
You Love Us
ADFL

Looks like the roadies are having fun handing out the wrong setlists

Get well soon MSPKYE ...hope arm heals quickly ...and no I'm not just saying that so he can get back to FD twitter duty

That was absolutely tremendous. Sapporo was IMMENSE live, I really enjoyed it. To my absolute shock the audience were really into it. Very often I find that early in a tour, when the album's only just come out, nobody beyond the front row seems to know the words to the new songs, but the audience ROARED the first chorus. Beautiful! They also clapped along as the music builds after the vocal solo bits, it was really fantastic to experience.

Stay Beautiful acoustic was a joy.

Crowd were ok, during Sweet Child James was shouting at some people over his side, they got a right bollocking

I don't have a clue what they were doing, but he was Very Firm with them

After the song he said something like "have we all calmed down now? Yeah? We need to take care of each other ok?", so I assume there was some aggressive pogoing or something.
