If anybody else is going I'll look forward to seeing you there. This should be a really special one, albeit a bit out of the way. Not looking forward to 6.5 hours on the train tomorrow but the end will more than justify the means.

A good solid performance from the lads.
But a truly disappointing crowd. Weren't moving to anything. Not even ADL or Motorcycle. What's more, the small vanguard of fans that were actually moving were subject to a barrage of abuse. Our crime? The audacity of trying to enjoy ourselves at a rock'n'roll gig. Real shame.

The crowd were subdued (it did drizzle all night I guess) but lovely gig and amazing setting. And I got to laugh my head off when Nicky decided to shout "yabba dabba doo" during You Love Us. Poor old James had to take a towel to his pedalboard - "housekeeping" as he called it.
I had a good old jump and sing, anyway. |

This is pretty great - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tC2vOStHBbQ
She sounds a bit quiet in the mix but her voice is a better fit than kylie's imo.

Bit late, but we went and I did enjoy it, but have to say I'm a bit gig fatigued now and am rather glad this was my last one for a while. It was nice to hear Found That Soul and Masses again, but the rest of the set was quite standard (as expected in fairness). I could barely hear the Anchoress on LBN either, but maybe that was just where we were stood.
Also a bit miffed that the venue took my umbrella off me "for health and safety reasons" as we were going in (I had no intention of using it at the gig, I'm British and was on a British holiday in Cornwall in the summer months...a brolly goes everywhere with me by default!) and there were some colossal wankers in the crowd who were more bothered about getting wasted than watching the band. Pretty sure the woman next to me was high on drugs as well and she could barely stand by the end. The setting of the gig was pretty spectacular though (if a tad faffy getting in and out), shame it rained (the crew were working hard to make sure James didn't go arse over tit or that the equipment didn't blow up...there was some high tech cling film - or so it looked - at one point too ), but that's British summer time for you! I had a lovely time generally in Cornwall though; it took me right back to being a child on family holidays. In a way, I think one of the reasons I was a bit unarsed about the Manics was because I was in full on holiday mode and the gig felt like a bit of an inconvenience But I recognise that's entirely my issue. |

I loved Cornwall but this festival was a farce from start to finish. I'm in a pretty shitty mood due to fact I have a black eye due to being elbowed in the face by what I can only say was a dickhead off his face on drugs and booze. This happened in the first song! I had to leave the gig to get attention because my nose was bleeding. I explained the situation to staff who said "oh, well, the crowd are just excited for the band. It doesn't look like you have any serious damage (despite a deep gash on my eye which required 3 stitches). Safe to say this was my last manics gig at a festival!
