Death Of A Polaroid

hello

just a quick one to say that Wire's book should be available to purchase today a couple of weeks upfront of proper publication at each of the HMV signings.

According to hmv staff the band won't sign it today though. Hope that's wrong!

possibly they are signed copies as HMV has an exclusive on that version (it comes in a slipcase, looks fantastic). obviously that doesn't include scribbles by JDB and Sean...

exclusive version of Death of polaroid

Does anybody know if there is more than one version of this book knocking around? I've seen the normal hard back pink cover version but on HMV website it says there is another version, I'm trying to find out more about it but no luck,

Any ideas anyone?

From what I'm aware, there's an HMV online exclusive version with a slipcase signed by Nicky Wire going for £30 - an extra £10 on what I think the book is RRP'd at.

I think there's also some super mega limited edition, but I don't have the info on that. Someone else might do, tho.

not that i begrudge them making cash, good luck to them, but do they really have to milk the fans every single time? bend over and take some corporate dollars, lads, they pay more and it means we get shit like this for less and are unlikely to think any less of you.

I would.

No one's forcing anyone to get this stuff. Sponsors mean contractual obligations that further restrict the band's freedom.

You really think so?

With the multiple format options both physically and digitally of the last few releases I see them as totally that. Especially for a band that is so in touch with their fans.

They're big enough to say no to all of this.
