Oh, and Futurology, I think it's going to need to evolve as a live song. Can't wait to hear the studio version.

Well.

That was a strangely difficult experience. Think that was my least favourite Manics gig, ever. Nicky was really subdued and looked really, really unhappy and/or upset. I think he only smiled twice throughout the entire gig, the rest of the time he was grimacing and gritting his teeth. At Cardiff we heard from tour staff that he is quite ill, and tonight I felt like he was really struggling. He tried really hard (particularly active in the second half) and it probably looked great from the back, but up close it was really, really upsetting.

The crowd seemed very subdued. Certainly that was the case on Nicky's side of the barrier (and definitely as a result of his mood/condition) but it seemed to be the case throughout the venue. Very odd overall.

On the plus side, JDB was utterly fantastic and really going for it all night. He was incredible. I am in awe. Also he checked up on Nicky quite a few times and I thought that was quite sweet. Also Wolf Alice were fucking brilliant, and the venue and staff were lovely and very considerate to the queue throughout the day.

Oh, Nicky. I hope he's ok.

Couldn't have said it better.
I turned my head around a couple of times to check out the crowd behind me and they all looked completely dead, even the people at the barriers.
At some point I even stopped singing along to James because I was basically the only one doing it and I could hear myself which was quite embarassing.
Regarding the Nicky thing...having been there tonight and having seen the state he's in, I wouldn't be upset and I'd totally understand if they cancelledthe tour tomorrow as it hurts me immensely to see him like that.

James was utterly awesome, he tried to make up for the lack of action from both Nicky and the audience and he did a brilliant job, he really saved the nighg for me.

Yeah, at one point tonight I expected them to close the show early. I do half expect them to cancel a few dates now. I'm really worried about him. Did they come out for botherings tonight?

No, Sean was already on the bus and Nicky went straight to the bus without even waving or anything, and he was looking really upset.
James stayed for a couple of minutes to sign stuff.

He's really, really sick

I don't have a clue but I don't actually need to know the details. I can see that he'd rather be miles away and that's heartbreaking enough for me.
He seemed to be so happy in Leeds, dont know what happened.

No, you could see that he was in pain towards the end of the Cardiff gig too

Leicester DMH was the worst Manics gig i've been to. The sound was awful - it started with the support act - the bass was waytoo high on the vocal caused it to distort. Hoped it would be ok for the Mancis...but sadly it wasn't - James voice was distorted most of the time and the frigging keyboards kept cutting through everything. New songs...meh... not impressed.
I've seen them at DMH a couple of times and both gigs were fantastic....sooo disappointed

Poor lad, I feel awful now for that zombie crack. I remember the Llandudno JFPL gig where his back was so back he couldn't look at the crowd, I ended up leaving the barrier and going to the back because it was so hard to see him like that.

rel, it was heartbreaking onstage, but when he came out to get on the bus it was HORRIBLE. I have never ever seen him so angry or aggressive towards us all
