Brilliant; great song, great singing, great video, great quote, indistinguishable sample in bridge, and the subject?
Quote:
It was written as a duet that explores a toxic dynamic created by those that see people as puppets rather than as human beings.
My favourite subject

This is kinda great actually, after a few listens it comes more alive and we know their voices compliment each other but they really do! Catherine's lower register is a really nice subversion of traditional male/female duets and i like it. Shall have to get her new album.
I could have done with a bit more of it, ends a bit soon for my liking.

and high and very far away he saw the spiral arms of military systems, forever beyond his reach.
And somewhere he was laughing, in a white-painted loft, distant fingers caressing the deck, tears of release streaking his face.

If I'm being honest I would say "overwrought and pouty" is a good description for a lot of the Anchoress's stuff. I think she's immensely talented but I really wish she'd cut back on the vocal fry and melodramatic vibrato when she sings - it puts me off listening to a lot of her songs which otherwise are great.

Yeah, to be fair there is a lot of vocal fry over the album if that’s not your thing and it’s not mine either but I can sort of overlook it here. There’s some lovely use of synths and the instrumental pieces dotted through are great but I have to commend her for the honesty she shows in the lyrics, particularly given the things she’s had to deal with in her life.

Really good album. I managed to get the double LP which came with a 7" single that has 'Small black flowers that grow in the sky' on the 'A' side
