I hear:
Tearing wild through the silky night, In my mind every (colour's bright?), Let slip words in shattered verse, A slow motion figure's (?) one behind. A vision blurred, I (am cursed? incurred?) And I will burn(?) Now I wait standing (?) I return (?) (?) my vision has blurred. Stretch me out on (?) wire, Stand as watch as my body burns. Leave me here, a vision blurred, Watch me burn. And now I pray For the (?) (I/of return?) I surrender, my vision has blurred. Through the tendrils, through the trees, I see the (forest?) change. (Leaves turn into wicker spears?) (But the faces remain?) Now I wait, paralyzed, (Running blind?) (in surrender?), my vision has blurred. |

in my mind every colour's blind is what I hear.

Much better. And I think the rhyme's 'As slow motion figures run behind'. It's not bad, for a song about losing a contact lens.
'Stretch me out on a thin wire', I think. |

I've got a question, is a phrase Vision Blurred typical for English language? I've noticed today that there's a line in 4st 7lb "my vision's getting blurred but I can see my ribs and I feel fine". any relations?

well, I suppose that one's vision is blurred when he can't focus properly, or he has a "foggy" visual of the world through his eyes...so it fits in 4st 7lb (she doesn't eat ---> her eyes don't work properly ---> she barely see her ribs and she feels fine 'cos she want to be skinny)

"My vision's getting blurred" sounds quite standard, so I don't think there's any relations (i.e. quote).

Surely you have a similar phrase in polish?

I've heard "blurred vision" or "blurry vision" before, but not really "vision blurred" specifically outside of this track that I can recall- I suppose it is possible that the Horrors could have had the "4st 7lb" line/track in mind. I'm still really interested to hear the Horrors' original version, I hope it turns up somewhere one of these days!

Well, it actually should be "blurred vision", but later in the songs the lyrics are "my vision is blurred", so maybe it sounds better...
I'm not a native English speaker but I think it should be in this way.

That's what I said in the previous post

I just had to look for this thread to confirm I didn't just hear James singing "please turn into Britney Spears"
Apparently that aren't the lyrics. I'm relieved. To stay on topic: I love the song. |
