It may be significant that the official video today surpassed the (first posted) lyrics video in number of views - 139k views in just 21 days v 136k views in 53 days respectively.

So the official video is clocking up around 6 600 views per day whereas the lyrics video is clocking up barely 2 500 per day - three times fewer.

In terms of publicity and advertising exposure, it's clear that an original music video has a considerable edge, on YouTube at least, making the logic behind the expense of an official video a little clearer.

Three years to the day (I think) since this was released.

I know it’s easy to go easy on the newest songs and albums but this is a banger isn’t it.

Even people I know who have no time for the Manics love this song. A proper resurgence. Whether it’s the live or album version it’s just a brilliant song.

I remember when it came out, I'd just moved into a new large flat and when it came out I was excited. First listen I was like "meh" as I usually am with new Manics stuff, but on second listen I started to get it I played the album today actually, popped the CD and the demo CD on, such a good song!

My best mate and rhythm guitarist died mid-Nov (on my birthday, obvs) and he was a massive Manics fan. This song popped up a few weeks later and had a load of balls and was like a gift. He would’ve loved it and it’s aged really well.

If we get this sort of stuff on the next album then that’s fine by me.

And whatever they want to say about it being about Yves Klein, it is clearly another Richey song.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Lee.
But the song is amazing. Live it was immense. Three guitar job, nah, they still had keyboards?
Well anyway, if there's criticism it's with Absolute Radio saying it was great... And then reverting to only playing the same three songs from 1996-1998 over and over again.
I thought Walk Me To The Bridge was a lost banger, but it's International Blue hands down.

Aw, I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s amazing how songs/music that we hear/associate with personal events can become so significant and cathartic isn’t it? The ‘soundtrack to your life’ thing is maybe a cliché, but sometimes clichés are very true...

I agree this song has aged/is ageing very well.

Amazing video.

They're also social distancing in the video. I love that they started with International Blue then into Motorcycle Emptiness at the Leeds concert, possibly written about Richey. I hope they play more from RIF again.

Me too, I wouldn’t be surprised if International Blue is all they will play from it for the foreseeable future, maybe HMLAHeaven, but I think it’s the kind of album they can raid for deep cuts in the future whenever the next time is that they want to throw a curve-ball in.

I’d be a little sad if they never ever play Mirror Gaze live, even if it’s very unlikely I’d be there to hear it.

I'd be happy with International Blue opening the set then Motorcycle Emptiness.
Proper fantasy Found That Soul then International Blue followed by Motorcycle Emptiness.
(Full titles used due to confusion of how post would come across.

That radio x version is indeed legit great.

I feel like international blue performs a bait and switch, i was too quick to dismiss it when i heard that first radio play because it sounded too manics-by-numbers and i suppose it kinda is but it's the best kind of manics-by-numbers. Keep your it's not wars and you stole the suns and give me something like this instead - 4k manics. I'm curious if this is a track that crosses the streams of the casuals and the fans, unlike so many others which are rarely loved by both. I do enjoy the video as well, it looks amazing.

Very sorry to read about your loss, lee.
