Having studied a film course at uni, I can say that this is exactly the sort of thing we had to watch week in, week out, produced by students. I'm surprised there isn't a section where they walk around a university campus or one of them goes to sit down in a messy lounge.

I actually quite liked it, it drew me in and I'm a Nicky girl! Mac looks like he'd mug you as soon as look at you though...

For what's supposed to be a bit of promotion, the comments below it are priceless.

This sounds just like "The Everlasting", which they disowned, except worse.

What a pile of w@#k. Empty lyricism allied with a tune that even Simply Red would have rejected as overly pedestrian and insipid.

predictably dire song - staggeringly dire video

At least JDB had the decency to look bored with it too.
See, as much as they hate this place, it really is their best friend on the internet.

The video is a bit bland isn't it? It only really gets mildly interesting during the big break down before the ending.

I like it. Okay, it looks really shit, but it's strangely quaint in its shitness. Let's face it, the money they've spent on this video is probably about equal to any money they'll make off the single itself.

Not a bad vid at all, I quite like it!! Better than some of the 'offerings' we've had in the past! Seriously tho, I like it, and think the fact that it's just James & Mac in the vid is quite fitting somhow. - there's my two cents anyho!!

Kind of boring. As has already been said, it doesn't do the song justice.

I definitely think it gets better towards the end where there are some beautiful shots of the beach but on the whole its a bit average. Although props to James in the beginning for walking around, what I'm pretty sure was, Newport and singing to a camera - that takes balls!

I worked with video when I was at Uni (well, ARU) and I have to say, I made videos that fitted that criteria. I never stooped so low as to make a live performance video using clips from songs different to the one used for the video though.

They've managed to complete the 'sad sentiment - uplifting song - depressing video' circle as only the Manics can - did no-one tell the director about the 'unique ability to find joy in melancholy' thing? James looks knackered as well as suicidal - this was the day after the fab Mcr gig, right? Having done the trip from here to Cardiff I can't blame him.
