Remember fansites and webrings?
I was just mooching about the net hoping to find a few fansites that I used to go on in 98ish. The internet has eaten them, it's all Tumblr and that now. Which is a huge shame, the fansites were as quirky as zines were.
I did find this webring which, of course, I was a part of. I remember dreaming up the idea as if from a divine source, in a hotel room in Yorkshire. Click 'SeanMoorenet webring'. http://www.webring.org/l/rd?ring=eve...%2Fseanzine%2F So, what was your first unofficial foray into Manics internetdom? did you make any sites? My first dipping of toes was Iconoclastic Glitter's forum. Heady days indeed.

My first sites were Archives Of Pain (though I never actually said anything) and manicsonline which I dipped my toes into the forum. Then FD mk I and sb.net got forums and I was hooked. I Love Nichola was superb and you could easily spend weekends going through the sites the webrings threw up
I did have a shitty geocities site, the only thing I achieved with that was putting up a crack to unblock everyone's Napster accounts when we all got banned following the KYE leak. Now I'm trying to complete MSPpedia and try and emulate the great sites of manics Christmas past

I remember the person who did I Love Nichola. She was a Sean fan, oddly enough.
On my website I got the KYE Cuba photos up off the hidden Sony page. Recall some fuss about that.

Yeah I used those three too, I remember the rivalry between the forums, God there was some bitchiness, never understood why but it was entertaining.

I never went on SB much. We used to have secret chat rooms and forums. And would be HORRIFIED if anyone stumbled across us. Very silly.

I recall my first Manic's site was hibernation.co.uk in 2002.
As for sites of my own, I had an anime/manga fan site and later a site dedicated to a comic series I was creating in High school.

Stay Beautiful Forum with the usual suspects and then migration to here...there were lots of people who were on both SB and FD so I never really noticed a 'war' as such between the people I 'hung' out with.

I remember being on the official forum in the late '90s. The first independent Manics site I remember using was Destroyed By Madness, although I can't for the life of me remember if it had a forum.
