15 Years
Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet. I just hope if he's still out there somewhere he's happy and still writing.

It's all over there in "Appreciation".

I did think of this, this morning when I realized the date. I can't believe 15 years have passed. Wherever he is I hope he's found peace.

I don't go into appreciation (scary), so: Whatever happened, I hope Richey is at peace in one way or another. I just feel very sad that yet another year has passed by during which his family have had no real answers.

Haha! Come on Looke, be serious! Nicky has never sung in tune!
It's nice to see that some people want to remember this event, but for me, it just brings up a load of bad memories from that time. For those fans that are old enough to remember when he went missing, especially if you were a Richey girl/boy, it was a bloody awful time and as such, it's really not a period I'd like to revisit every year. I suspect that those who knew and loved him as a person feel the same except their grief is 1000 times stronger. Best of luck to the man where ever he may be. No matter how much time has passed, he'll always be the Manic I feel most strongly about. |

And facebook has it's fair share of Richey tributes too.
15 years ago, in some shit training course for something that could never get me a job (They were two a penny under the Tories) and going out with a CoR. I had yet to get into the band properly, so when she fucked off for a couple of days after it was announced Richey had gone missing... was not happy. Made up with her since though. And as my late friend said of it "Good luck to him! Now fuck off and leave him alone!" It was a refreshing change to hear him say that. And he was right. There was a lot of attention on Richey at the time and my ex did write a letter (not sure if it got published) to one of the music papers accusing them of rubbing their hands in glee over the stories they could publish about "The next Kurt"? It's still his family I feel sorry for. |

Yeah, feel sorry for his family and friends. Hope he is happy wherever he is.
