I don't think we'll ever see another album with James as the sole lead vocalist.

I just reckon there'll be longer breaks between albums from now, in the vein of the Rolling Stones (except not making unlistenable guff when they do put something out...I hope). They're always going to be doing something in the musical sphere. They love it too much to stay away. The cynic inside me says there won't be any more solo albums though. James and Nicky seem a bit coy and come over quite self-conscious whenever TGW or IKTZ are mentioned nowadays.

I can see James carrying on down the theme music/soundtrack route, and think it'll be good for him as that seems to be more of a passion for him than singing at the moment. Nicky might end up writing more books, or having a column in a music magazine or something similar.

Sean, of course, will go back home to begin construction on his doomsday machine.

They've probably already started to write the next album didn't they last time say this and then claim that after a month of hoovering Wire phoned James with several new lyrics.

You can see in the interviews there are no great plans anymore it was suggested would they be singing Motown junk at 52 and they answered it, the acknowledgement of the Rolling Stones also suggests to me they could see themselves do that.

Anyhow I saw the Eagles last week, and Joe Walsh must be in his 70's and yet he's as bouncy as ever, I can see the ever increasing slower more reflective albums in fact even maybe a welsh trilogy.

That was quick, splitting rumours/discussion usually takes longer after a big announcement

Remember when the press started these rumours after every album? Now the band have to do it themselves.

Could've at least waited until the latest album was actually out though, eh?

I don't really see evidence of albums slowing down, the last two have come pretty close together, I think they'll just continue doing what they are doing. They aren't exactly old old.

I think they have another 2-3 albums in them along with re-releases of older albums.

On what basis though? We really don't have any idea, it's all just uninformed speculation.

I can't see them releasing 2 albums in a year again so on that basis alone I think we can feasibly give the band another 10 years.

What about that 70 song album they were going to do? That's definitely happening right?

With the sucess from "Rewind The Film" and "Futurology" the band have really revitalised themselves. I'm sure that there will be at least one more proper studio album to come from them. Like every good thing in life, ages makes it better. Who knows what tracks were left off both releases that could be used in the future.

In the mean time I see Nicky doing more promotion for Welsh arts, while James and Sean will tinker around Faster recording tracks getting ready for another release in less than three years time.

James just popped up on 6Music (Shaun Keavney's show about 8.45) saying the next album might be escapism, classic rock, with someone like Rick Rubin producing.

Three years?!? Did they really say that, is there a quote? Oh my... I was afraid of that actually; the other day I had a dream (nightmare, actually) where they said they'd only play a gig once a year from now on and not release any new music at all, because they wanted to have "at least 5 more babies each", haha! Seriously though, I hope it won't be three years (or forever...), now that I've rediscovered my Manics hysteria after ten years of abstinence. That would be mean. :-(
