I can think of very few bands that even come close to having this good of an album this late in their career. But the Manics are the Manics. So it shouldn't be too surprising.

So there's a #2 album out, loads of promo, but people can't see them live even if they wanted to. What's going on? What are they DOING all this time?

It's weird isn't it? We were moaning about no promo, yet when the album got released last week, the album shot to number 2 with a solid week's worth of promo and great reviews but on the back of all this positive acclaim they haven't yet announced a tour, which is VERY strange!

Money talks. Maybe a tour will be arranged fairly quickly (if they've got a marketing department worth having of course.... oh)

Yeah, not sure we can count the plebs they have in charge of their marketing at the moment as being competent.

And after thinking it the weaker of the two instrumentals when I was first listening to it. Mayakovsky just had a great number of repeated listening last night and today.

I've listened twice through and just find it boring other than about 3 tracks near the start of the record.
That Europa song is god damn awful though.

I thought Nicky had announced a tour for October (no details though) and a couple of THB gigs in one of those interviews/TV shows he did recently? I don't remember which, as I only read it on FB.

I hope they do a Futurology tour in October then 1 or 2 special enormodome Holy Bible gigs in December. I really don't think doing a full Holy Bible tour is such a good idea. It's from a different era, a different band. It would be too forced even with the best of intentions. It just seems wrong somehow although I'm probably in the minority on this I know! Maybe it will be amazing I dunno.

THB is by far my favourite Manics album (and I suppose I'm not alone in that), but I'm not sure what to make of the gig idea.

a) I'm not a big fan of trying to rehash the past,
b) I'm not sure how the band would handle it, seeing that they always say some of those songs they find hard to play live (emotionally speaking),
c) They don't even like some of the songs anymore at all (in fact get the impression they really hate 'Revol'),
d) I think James would have trouble spitting out the words like he used to, because he may find it difficult to remember all the lyrics, and also because he's not as fit as he used to be back then and seems to be out of breath a lot these days, and, most importantly,
e) They'd probably play them in the UK only, and I can't afford to make the trip, haha!
