who says a band have to announce a tour the first week the album is released? They've just done one…

I think the point is that they should have a tour in place to play to people who've just bought the album...

what probably happened is they had the tour planned for april with the album release.. that got pushed back and with the indecision over holy bible gigs everythings gone off kilter… that or they just want people to come back off their summer holidays to buy tickets

b) I'm not sure how the band would handle it, seeing that they always say some of those songs they find hard to play live (emotionally speaking),
c) They don't even like some of the songs anymore at all (in fact get the impression they really hate 'Revol'),
d) I think James would have trouble spitting out the words like he used to, because he may find it difficult to remember all the lyrics, and also because he's not as fit as he used to be back then and seems to be out of breath a lot these days, and, most importantly,
e) They'd probably play them in the UK only, and I can't afford to make the trip, haha!
The most depressing thought is that 20 years have passed by since i bought The Holy Bible.....20 yeeears. What the.....

N shurrup about James he's not quite past his sell by date yet

Me. I wanted them there performing in the shop i bought the album in. As a sampler. Don't ask for much

I like the idea of a Holy Bible tour. I think the fashion for releasing 10th anniversary, 20th anniversary etc edition albums are a bit of a rip off....well, maybe they bring em to the attention of some for the first time but they seem mainly to be cash ins whilst a tour and a chance to hear the songs live would be a better way to mark it....see where they've come from, possibly not hologram in Richey, that might be weird

Well at least they have been doing festivals, two of which had BBC coverage. And they were pretty convincing performing the Holy Bible songs in the video of that Rough Trade gig

Futurology seems to the only manics album where the bass is prominent in the mix through most of the tracks.

It would be a good time to announce a tour, whilst they are on a roll. It's also great to plug on radio interviews etc.

The timing for announcing a tour would be perfect now.

The first week after the release it was all about the album, Nicky will be happy with this 'trending mass communication'
Second week after the release it could grab many people's attention seeing publicity for the Manics playing an arena - gig nearby. Would be commercially good for the album too.

I'm giving my avatar shades for a while in solidarity with Nicky, becasue it's an important issue to stand up for the right to wear whatever you want.

I hope this doesn't mean I shall be banned in France.
