That's the same bloody message you put up on FB! Just write a review man, instead of moaning about it. In the time it took you to write that, you could have written the review!

I will most likely disagree with most of it as I'm not feeling Futurology at all, but i do always like reading your reviews!

Iv'e now lost count of how many times over the weekend I have listened to the album. While at work or out and about I have tracks swirling through my head in my brains little playlist. I love it when that happens. Music comes along so rarely that gets stuck in my head for all the right reasons and when it's from my favourite band that makes it all the more special.

9/10 for me

Personal favourites are Between The Clock And The Bed, Black Square and a late and unexpected entry Divine Youth

I really like most of the tracks and lyrics and how they seem to portray a story throughout. I very much like EGDM and WMTTB and the instrumentals. Its a fabulous album I feel I can listen to the whole way through

I posted my more detailed response to the album in the main Futurology thread, it's a 9/10 for me.

It's ... futuristic.

10/10 just because it's another Manics's album.

Bought it today after resisting temptation to try and find the entire album beforehand. Really liked it on the first couple of listens, but apart from Nina Hoss, I don't think the other guest vocalists really bring much to the songs. Having also listened to the extra tracks, I can't believe Empty Motorcades was left off!!

They've done something I never thought would be possible - created an album that vies for the top spot with The Holy Bible. The more I listen to it, the more I love it. Unlike JFPL, there are no songs that I almost despise (She Bathed Herself...). I love the instrumentals (Dreaming of a City is on a par with the likes of Theme For Great Cities by Simple Minds, and even surpasses The Vorticists, I think); I still get a huge rush of euphoria listening to the chorus of Walk Me To The Bridge; Europa Geht Durch Mich will never get old; and there's just something so fantastically cohesive about it that I don't think they've achieved this well since THB. It's like THB distilled the best bands of 1977 - 1980, and Futurology distils the best bands of 1980 - 1984. Or something.

Straight in at number two, and may eventually become my favourite Manics album, depending on how much SPLAM grows on me over time. I could give it a 9 just to do that sort of "oh you can't give anything a 10 unless it's perfect" thing, but fuck it - if New Gold Dream by Simple Minds is a 10 (and it is), then so is this.

8/10. 9/10 if bloody Green Gartside hadn't been on the album.
