Is there any genuine financial, contractual, whatever benefit to having a no 1 album?
Being able to put that in an advert might generate more sales. Possibly. It's a nice stat to put in the bio.
Plus they really really really want another No1 so hope they make it
Full disclosure ...nope not ordering an 8th copy

They usually drop to £4.99 on iTunes around about now but they’ve gone for £5.99 this time, the cowards.

At least with the iTunes version you get the Apple Digital Master so you’re not just paying for the exact same thing all over again.

So that’s the version to go for if you care but I’m holding out for Nicky to get more desperate and give away an iPhone 13 with copies after this evening’s Apple event.

Blank Diary Entry is really stuck in my head at the moment.

Some great Lanegan stuff is his 4AD session in 2012 for his fantastic album Blues Funeral: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCa9BBVeTjo

And his recent cover for the Alice in Chains thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m9IG66EUe0

You only need to listen to 30 seconds of a song for it to register as a play, you don't need to lsiten to the full thing... which is weird. So... popped the CD on and have just been skipping through the songs after like 31 seconds haha, I have nothing better to do

Does anyone know why they weren't on Sumday Brunch? Also, considering Nickys desperate for no. 1, their absence in the mainstream media this week doesn't suggest they're that bothered... no One Show, no BBC Breakfast. Steps did This Morning. Steps are arses though

I was chatting to my ex-girlfriend about the Manics been at no.1 and Steps like a 1000 copies behind them. She said "Steps? Urgh. I'm really tempted to buy a copy of the Manics album to help them beat Steps!" haha.

Maybe they issued an ultimatum; “we’re going on telly or signing tat - but not both!”

Tesco aren’t stocking TUVL but there were copies of the steps album. I may have inadvertently hidden said copies though
