Will they ever do "album shows" eg THB, EMG, TIMT, JFPL again?
I missed the various album tours the band have done over the past 10 years. Just wondering if the band have commented on the format as they seem to have enjoyed it, or if they'd said "we'll never play THB in full again!" etc.
I've seen Bruce Springsteen play Darkness on the Edge of Town and Born In The USA in full live (as well as the Manics doing JFPL) and I really enjoy this format. I'd love to see more bands do it.

Id love to see a full Know Your Enemy show, but I kind of doubt it'll happen.

Wonder if they'd have bothered with GATS gigs had COVID not been in the way?

No, I don't think so. And they shouldn't. They've shown that when they are inspired enough to go and camp in Rockfield for a few weeks that they can produce an album that gets to no.1 (important for Nicky) or is musically realises an idea into a fantastic collection of songs (important to James and Sean).

I’d say unlikely now, especially anything pre-EMG. TUVL 10th anniversary is probably your best bet.

Journal For Plague Lovers gig is still my fave ever. What a show that was! Would be brilliant if they did do that kind of thing again!

Fuck it,I want a 2 week residency with every Album played, one a night with appropriate b sides and extra tracks. I would pay £1000 for a season ticket.

We are still waiting on this section, it's gonna be badass. But while you wait perhaps you would care to peruse the lyrics for 'Underdogs' and 'Your Love Is Not Enough', from the album 'Send Away The Tigers'. |

There's an albums book coming out the end of October....not sure if this is the right place nor if mentioned before as not been on a while now so sorry if this is a repeat (fuck queen & country...sorry) but it will be edited by Marc Burrows simply called Manic Street Preachers: Album by Album a series of indepth pieces on each album ..no idea if it will include the latest....you would think so wouldn't you but .....only mention cos I've heard of it is all but as there will be an intro by the Anchoress it might be a bit more than a cut n paste...and is published by White Owl a tiny (good) publisher with a lovely name.......
As for the new album haven't heard it yet...just arrrrrrrgh at the moment which of course means that an hour or 47 minutes and 52 seconds or whatever it is out to have a listen would be likely recommended....well...recommended by some apart from the usual who land around this time to let us poor eejits know how much they hate the band and count ourselves lucky they have the time to take out to do so etc....

There's always a commercial demand versus what the band want to do artistically. There'll always be some demand for RHB/EMG/TIMTTMY shows, but they've been done before. I suspect the most likely would be a Generation Terrorists album show(s).... next year will be the 30th anniversary!

I just want them to play their new albums in this format. If you do multiple shows on a tour, you'd be lucky to hear 6 new songs. That's part of the reason why I didn't bother with the RiF tour (that and the fact they booked half empty arenas). I wish they had more confidence in their newer work. Wire did claim that the new album is well rehearsed, hope that pays off in the setlist.
