Which track would you love to see live?

We all have our dream tracks, "missing" from our live experiences. What's yours?

Right now I am dying to hear Still Snowing In Sapporo live, but I'd give even that up for an outing of Love's Sweet Exile, which amazingly in 21 shows I am yet to hear live.

I also only need Mausoleum and TIHOE to "complete" The Holy Bible (oh how I wish I hadn't missed that tour).

All in all... the one I want to hear most right now is Be Natural, which has recently sprung out as a favourite from TIMT.

When it comes to unlikely deep cuts, I've always dreamed of Picturesque live, but JFPL rendered that all but impossible.

Honestly I used to have a pretty long wishlist but I'm pretty happy these days, I think after missing the EMG and Truth tours I've resigned myself to never hearing a ton of stuff (still can't believe I missed Condemned To Rock and Roll!).

I would absolutely love to hear R.P. McMurphy, I adore that song. I think it was the first 'early' b-side I heard, when they re-released the GT singles in the late 90s, and it holds a very special place in my heart. I guess I can sort of see James pulling that one out of the hat in the acoustic slot one night, but I don't really see it happening.

I'd love to hear Picturesque, but that will never happen in a million years.

I'm always hoping to hear more Lifeblood, even the tracks I've already seen them play. I'd love to get a few tracks from Rewind and Futurology that were never played live on those tours. Tokyo Skyline would be lovely.

But yeah, generally I'm just in a place where I'm really happy with whatever they play. It helps that they're pulling deep cuts out of the bag on every tour now.

Intravenous Agnostic.

Someone still has that recording.

Repeat and their take on What’s My Name are the two tracks that regularly featured on many early tours that I’ve only ever heard on bootlegs, would love to finally see one of those played in person!

Intravenous Agnostic is the key one for me because it would be immense and the recording itself sounds like it was recorded live for the most part. I've been quite lucky with the last 10 years with Anniversary Gigs and the GT acoustic gig at Rough Trade. Not counting TUVL, I'd like to hear 4'ever Delayed, Tokyo Skyline and Running out of Fantasy. Ooh and All We Make is Entertainment just to watch James's do the solo.

Of all the times I’ve seen the band live - and of all those that were at the Wolverhampton Civic - my favourite gig is and will always be seeing them perform JFPL in full back in 2009. So I’ve seen all of those tracks live already but that doesn’t mean I never want to see any of them performed ever again. But since 2011, that’s been the Manics’ stance on playing JFPL songs live. It’s so bloody frustrating when it’s their best album by a mile this century.

Tldr; START PLAYING JFPL TRACKS LIVE AGAIN!

Lots of good suggestions already.

For me it’d definitely be Mirror Gaze.

Actually, partly for the lolz and partly for the look on the faces of the casual audience, but mostly because I love it - Engage With Your Shadow.

They should release a live recording of Engage With Your Shadow… but only make it available on VHS.

They should then take all of those VHS tapes and the original master tapes for the song itself and bury them in a concrete square at the bottom of the ocean defended by shark sentinels.

Fine by me. Still have my VHS player - they told me to get rid of my record player and then cassettes and look! They're back !

Would love to hear this sullen Welsh heart again in the acoustic slot. And facing page: top left ..tho James said he struggled to breathe thru that one

“Sharks with frickin’ laser beams attached to their heads”, naturally?

(Or ill-tempered sea bass at the very least… it’s a start).

joking aside I still have a VHS player too, and actually used it within the last ten years (!).

Paradoxically it was evidently useful, and consequently the lyric is not entirely successful in that regard, ironically making it more true than if it had been been accurate in the first place. It’s another complicated illusion!
