Maybe it could have made a better b-side. Still entertaining though.

It is bloody awful. Get a grip people. Is this what we want from the Manics?

No, I don't want any more songs like this. It's not awful but I think they're capable of much better.

To me, the song sounds like the sort of pop shit you get in the charts, except with heavy sounding guitars.

Yup, that's pretty much how I feel about it, too. I'm sure that sooner or later I'll be "singing it loud at the indie disco". ;-) It's this album's "Miss Europa", bit of a novelty song really.

And it's nice to actually understand the lyrics for once without having to read them up.

Do we actually like this song or do we all like it in a 'so bad it's good' way? It's just bad... really bad. I can't even laugh at it.

Worst thing they've ever done?

The bit before the chorus reminds me of Flight of the Conchords

I've replaced it with motorcade. Sounds so much better. SPLAM is now in a playlist I call "Music To Baffle" which includes MEDD, Ghost Of Christmas, etc.

It's not as bad as AutumnSong! Almost as bad, but nothing could be as bad as that. I'd say it's in their top 5 worst songs.

Except MEDD and Ghost of Christmas are great songs, unlike this piece of shit.

I love this song, I think it's so over the top brilliant and I hope it's the next single.

Not heard it yet but... is it this album's EWYS? Only this time they've put it on an album instead of a b-side?

It's definetly the runt of the litter. I think it has a place, though. Like when the italian futurists liked fast cars (and fascism) and hung around with boxers. It introduces some muscle and segues well into the magnificent Dreaming A City.

The text is also surprisingly ok. "It reads like a nover within a sigh" is cool.

I really like it - can't help thinking that people wouldn't hate it so much if it had different lyrics....

I love it, the verses remind me of Big Audio Dynamite.
