Cheese and pineapple on sticks... probably stuck into a foil-wrapped potato. BBC cutbacks or what? I think the clingfilm makes it look sadder somehow!!

No mini quiches? No vol au vents? No chicken drumsticks? This is shocking. Why didn't they get some nice buffet platters from Tesco's???
One of the cheesy hedgehogs is quite denuded and I bet James had away the rest of those pork pies.

Anyway, I'll take your buffet picture and raise you a soundcheck pic:

The 'buffet' has Scotch eggs cut in half! Why? They'll dry out. Ugh.

Cutbacks. It's public funding. No money wasted on frivolous food. Unedible food, but not expensive or good-tasting.

James won't mind. He'll have scoffed all that up in no time or taken a doggy bag home with him!

Were those the "Manchester" eggs which apparently had all gone by the time Noddy Holder went to get some? I can't think who was responsible for eating all that, can you? I just... don't... know......

Are those ham and tomato sandwiches? They look horrible. Unless I'm missing the point and it's terribly ironic? Like The Shirehorses cover of "Tolerate"....

Was it served up by Alison Steadman in a chiffon maxi dress?

You don't leave James on his own in arms reach of a buffet...

So a Manchester egg is a scotch egg cut in half?

I was wondering if it's like that thing with bakewell tarts - in Birmingham, they're called Boston tarts. Bakewell and Boston having a fight for the rights to the marzipanny-icing-cherry-topped cake market. So Manchester is making a claim for boiled eggs wrapped in sausagemeat.

No, it's a Scotch egg with added black pudding.

As if Scotch eggs weren't vile enough.
