Just found out about this from the Anchoress newsletter! Very tempted to go. It's the first gig the Manics have announced this year that's vaguely feasible for me.

So... in the south west a day before Glastonbury. Possibly playing there also?

I Agree With This.

BSP/MSP love-in resumes! If I wasn't officially retired from MSP gigs, I'd be a bit tempted. God knows what it'll be like in terms of sound and crowd though.

I'm in. I was looking forward to Llangollen as the first show of the season, but perfectly happy for it to be gazumped by Bristol. An unexpected treat. It will indeed be interesting to see if they are carrying on to Glastonbury for a set.

Can it be any worse crowd-wise than Cardiff Castle or Swansea?

The Manics at big open air gigs (or in general, or maybe it's a UK outdoors gig thing?) seem to attract the kind of crowd I would not generally choose to mingle with, judging from the two above experiences.
Anyway, I'll be there, too, to hopefully enthuse afterwards. Or possibly moan about sound and crowd.

Well you can say hello to me if you like!

I'll be the one queueing with feather boas (OK that doesn't narrow it down!) (tourquoise and pink boas) pink leopard print top or white t-shirt with generation terrorist rose, black skirt and leopard print tights with leopard print shoes. (holy shit I'm such a cliche.)

I'm going with a few people who are talking about some after drinks.

I think it's safe to say the band won't do any new material but it would be amazing if they did their cover of "Crazy Train" that Nicky mentioned a while ago. I'm on my way to Bristol now and feeling very excited.
